Bentonite clay benefits:
Bentonite clay is a unique clay due to its ability to produce an “electrical charge” when hydrated. It contains high concentration of minerals including silica, calcium, magnesium, sodium, iron, and potassium. It is composed of mostly of negative ions which work like magnet which bonds to toxins, impurities, chemicals and heavy metals (positive ions) to help flush them out of the body. There are two main types of bentonite clay, Sodium Bentonite and Calcium Bentonite. Sodium Bentonite, when activated (by water), can expand up to six times its original size and contains electromagnetic properties. It is very absorbent making it excellent for balancing oily skin. Calcium Bentonite particles are smaller compared to Sodium Bentonite particles, which makes it more effective for remineralizing the skin versus drawing out toxins like Sodium Bentonite clay. It is possible for bentonite clay to have a mix of both sodium and calcium.
Bentonite clay is mined all over the world, including in Wyoming, Montana, Texas, Arizona, California, Florida and France and is believed to be the result of volcanic ash.
